**Long Live the 1200!**

This auction is for a CUSTOM ROSS RACING XJR 1297cc (advertised 12 / 1 COMPRESSION with full dome) piston kit as shown in pictures 1 thru 3. This piston kit also has the valve pockets already enlarged for oversize valves.

 When used with a FJ1100 it is recommended to use a FJ1200 or XJR1250 cylinder block with big bore sleeves (YA-991) installed. Crankcase cleanup is required if using YA-991 sleeves and Andrews Motorsports can perform the machine work if needed.

When using a FJ1100 block use our custom 3.290 sleeves and crankcase boring will NOT be required. The smaller OD custom sleeves also lessen the opportunity for oil seepage seen when the larger OD YA-991 sleeve is used. This is why a lot of the older blocks seeped oil when "big bored", the aluminum was just to tin after using the larger OD sleeves. With the old FJ1100 blocks the aluminum bore (for installation of the sleeve) was left thin when bored to accept the YA-991 sleeve which has a OD of 3.390. 

 When used with the European XJR1300 air cooled series engine the cylinder block will have to be bored and re-coated or big bore steel sleeves installed. The last application series engines (1250, 1300) does not need crankcase cleanup machine work as there is enough room for the cylinder sleeves to clear on assembly, whether using the larger OD YA-991 or our smaller OD custom Sleeve.

This kit includes: (4) Ross 83.00mm 3.167 +/- pistons, (4) Ross XC80.50 (XC3169) ring sets, (4) wrist pins, and (8) pin c-clips 4000 WA-9, (1) Cometic custom 80.50mm .040 head gasket (set deck at 0.000) and (1) 5EA base gasket. This kit is a 1297cc and the advertised piston size is (3.166 / 80.4164mm), (3.169 / 80.50mm finish bore size). Due to temperature variations and production runs or the human factor piston size can vary + / - .0005.

The crankcase does require boring (cylinder sleeve clearance) for the install of this big bore kit in the FJ1100 or FJ1200 series engine crankcases. (Unless our CUSTOM 3.290 OD sleeve is used.

PLEASE NOTE: If any flat rate shipping option is chosen the products will most likely have to be removed from manufacturer packaging for shipping. If at all possible the manufacturer boxes will be used as packing material if space allows, otherwise the pictures you see is what you receive. We do not use "file photos". Please Buy American!!
