Cylinder Sleeve, Custom Advance, 5839, 3.387 OD, Flange 3.600, Yamaha FJ, XJ

Advance Steel Sleeve (# 5839) for a 1250 Yamaha is a custom built sleeve. Also known as the old "Baby Grand Stock Car" sleeve. The sleeves od (outside diameter) is 3.387 and the flange OD is 3.600 and will accommodate piston sizes from 1250cc thru 1350cc bores.

The sleeve has no relief underneath the counter bore area so it will accommodate an 82mm /1350cc bore. The counterbore flange area at the top of the cylinder is 3.600 od which was designed to have more steel sleeve area to better seal the head gasket of an air cooled engine. Of course you could also use this sleeve to repair a standard flange area that had been over bored due to a machining error.

If needed we can perform the machine work on your block and install the sleeves. So don't throwaway that old block you didn't think could be repaired. The 5839 Advance sleeve is a custom part. Picture number 1 is of the actual listing and pictures 2 through 12 are so our on line customers can see we are a brick and mortar location with the equipment, inventory and personal to give our customers the service they both need and deserve. As you can tell from the pictures below, the sleeve is brand new and will be a great replacement to any buyer!
